Birthdays, bachelor parties and celebrations on the water — capacity by yacht, what you may bring aboard, and the slot that actually works.
At a glance: a private party yacht in Dubai holds 12 to 60 guests depending on size and starts at 900 AED for two hours. You bring your own alcohol and music; decoration, cake and BBQ catering are arranged in advance. Sunset boarding is the slot that works best.
Guest capacity on a Dubai charter is a licensed limit, not a guideline. The number on the certificate is the number that can board, so a party of 22 cannot squeeze onto a yacht rated for 20. This is the one decision worth getting right first, because everything else adjusts around it.
| Yacht | Guests | Suits | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marina Breeze 42ft | up to 12 | Small birthdays, intimate celebrations | 450 AED / hour |
| Gulf Diamond 56ft | up to 20 | The most booked party size | 900 AED / hour |
| Majesty Prestige 75ft | up to 35 | Large birthdays, bachelor parties | 1,800 AED / hour |
| Royal Arabian 100ft | up to 60 | Big celebrations, company parties | 3,000 AED / hour |
The cost per head falls sharply with group size. Twenty guests on the 56ft for three hours is roughly 135 AED each, which is less than a table at most Dubai venues for the same evening. If your list is close to a limit, take the size above it — a yacht at 80 per cent capacity is a far better party than one at 100.
The three questions that come up every time, answered plainly:
Everything is set up before boarding, so the yacht is ready when your guests arrive rather than being assembled in front of them. Available in advance:
One practical note on cakes: candles and open flame behave badly in the wind offshore. The crew will usually cut the cake during the swim stop or while the yacht is holding position, not while under way.
Board about 90 minutes before sunset. The party starts in daylight while guests settle and take photographs, the sunset lands in the middle of the charter, and the return leg runs past a fully lit Dubai skyline. Three hours covers that arc comfortably; two feels rushed once you have twenty people on board.
Sunset moves from roughly 17:35 in December to 19:15 in June, so the boarding time shifts by more than an hour and a half across the year. The exact time for your date is confirmed when you book. Daytime parties are pleasant between October and April and genuinely uncomfortable between June and September.
Two hours is a cruise. Three hours is a party. The difference is whether people sit down.
On charters of three hours or more the captain holds position off Palm Jumeirah for a swim stop, which is usually where a party finds its second wind. Jet skis, the banana boat and donut rides are available as add-ons and are billed per session rather than being included.
Book water sports in advance rather than deciding on the day — the equipment is brought out to the yacht and cannot be arranged mid-charter.
Weekend evenings are the constrained resource. Friday and Saturday sunset slots on the 56ft and 75ft go two to three weeks out, and around New Year's Eve, National Day and the Dubai Shopping Festival the larger yachts sell out well before that.
Weekday slots are a different market: often available within a few days and typically 10 to 15 per cent cheaper. If the date is flexible, a Tuesday or Wednesday evening gets you the same yacht and the same sunset for less. The full rate structure is on the prices page.
From 900 AED for two hours on a 42ft yacht for up to 12 guests. A 56ft for up to 20 guests is 900 AED per hour, a 75ft for up to 35 guests is 1,800 AED per hour, and a 100ft for up to 60 guests is 3,000 AED per hour. Decoration, cake and catering are quoted on top.
Twelve on the 42ft, twenty on the 56ft, thirty-five on the 75ft and sixty on the 100ft. These are licensed capacities, not suggestions — the number cannot be exceeded, so book the size above your guest list if you are unsure.
Yes. Alcohol is permitted on a private charter and is not supplied by us, so guests bring their own. Soft drinks, water and ice are included. Drinking is confined to the yacht; it is not permitted to carry open alcohol on the pier.
Yes. Every yacht has a Bluetooth sound system you connect your own phone to. Volume is reduced inside the marina channel and near residential stretches of the coast, then returns to normal in open water.
Balloons, banners, LED lighting, table setups, flowers and cake arrangements. All of it is arranged in advance and set up before you board, so the yacht is ready when your guests arrive rather than being decorated in front of them.
Both work. A BBQ setup with crew service can be arranged in advance and is priced per head, or you can bring your own food. Bringing your own is the cheaper option; the BBQ is the one people remember.
Sunset into evening. Boarding around 90 minutes before sunset means the celebration starts in daylight, the sunset falls in the middle, and the return runs past the lit Dubai skyline. Daytime parties work between October and April but are uncomfortable in summer.
Two to three weeks for a weekend evening, longer for New Year, National Day or the Dubai Shopping Festival, when the larger yachts sell out first. Weekday slots can often be arranged within a few days.
Send the date, the guest count and the occasion. You get back the right yacht, a boarding time built around that day's sunset, and an all-in price with the extras itemised.
